The founder of Pleasant Oaks CBD came upon the idea after trying some CBD lotion from a friend. He was so impressed, that he started thinking about what it would take to produce such a great product. It wasn’t long before Pleasant Oaks Farm kicked into gear and started planning to turn a small field on the farm into an area to plant hemp plants.
Because we are a close knit family, everyone got involved. We assembled a greenhouse, planted the seedlings, raised them until they were big enough to be transferred to the field. We ran water lines through the field, and all of us banded together to plant each plant carefully by hand. After that, we waited.
When it became time to harvest the plants, we learned that we really had our work cut out for us. We cut each plant and hung it to dry, and then de-budded each and every one of them very carefully, by hand. We did make a tumbling machine and a de-budding machine, but learned that the dryer plants were too fragile to run through the machines.
We then sent the buds off to a local place to have them turned into oil. Once we had figured out what recipe we wanted (we wanted to stay as natural as possible) and dosage we wanted, the entire family kicked back into gear and we started processing our product. We tried it on ourselves first, and passed out samples to family and friends to get their honest feedback. What we learned astounded us. We had created a product that was not only higher potency for less cost, but a product that worked in such a manner that our friends returned time and again to purchase some of their own.
2020 was our first year of growing and harvesting. This year is our first year of creating our product. Everything was made right on the premises, from the product to the very labels that we put on the jars. Each step was carefully studied and it wasn’t until we knew exactly what we were doing and what we wanted that we started to offer our product for sale.
